University in Tianjin that teaches in English?

hello all,

I'm Canadian and have a Dipolma of Nursing (RN) Recently, I have come to Tianjin for a change of pace and have started teaching English.  Since I only have a Diploma I was thinking of upgrading to a Bachleors degree (in anything, English, ESL Nursing...)
But, I don't speak chinese(i've only been here a couple months...) so, I was wondering if anyone knows of University that offers class that are taught in English in Tianjin...

It sounds like you only want to study part-time, in which case I can recommend the school I go to. The language of instruction is not in English, but I am not sure you could find a school that uses English to instruct. I think people learn faster if the language of instruction is the one being studied. The teacher goes slow in the beginning, and the textbooks and vocabulary books have English and Korean translation, so it is not a hurdle.
 If you are still interested, it is located in Tianjin Normal University, of which it is an affiliate language school, and the website is www.studyintheprc.com. Lessons are either 2 or 4 hours a day (you can choose whether to attend either one or two classes), at various slots within the day from morning to night, so it is flexible. Outside of lessons there is also about 2 to 4 hours of homework a day.
So far I have studied there 2 months and am satisfied. They go at a fast pace (for dummy me anyway), it is almost intensive. I think it would help if you had support in the beginning, a Chinese bilingual friend, an electronic dictionary, a character strokes dictionary. The teacher I have is very friendly and helpful.

There have been one or two places that offer "top-up" degree programs from foreign universities to Chinese students who have diplomas, but I don't know if they are still around. They didn't have the best of reputations. Anyway, you could search for institutions (I think they would be Australian or British) that have these kind of arrangements in China.

I think you would probably have better luck looking at doing an online degree abroad. There are lots of schools doing that now, and some of them are reasonably reputable.
